Born in Colorado, raised in Philadelphia, Brendan Jones has published work in The New York Times, Smithsonian, Saveur, Ploughshares, Narrative Magazine, Fine Woodworking, The Huffington Post, and recorded commentaries for National Public Radio. A former Stegner Fellow, he is an instructor at Stanford University, teaching an online course. His novel The Alaskan Laundry won the 2017 Alaskana Prize, was picked by as a book-of-the-month, and nominated for the Center for Fiction Flaherty-Dunnan Debut Novel Prize. He lives in Sitka with his wife and two daughters, where he commercial fishes.
