Born in Colorado, raised in Philadelphia, Brendan Jones has published work in The New York TimesSmithsonian, PloughsharesNarrative MagazineFine WoodworkingThe Huffington Post, and recorded commentaries for National Public RadioA former Stegner Fellow, he is an instructor at Stanford University, teaching an online course. His novel The Alaskan Laundry was picked by Oprah.com as a book-of-the-month, and longlisted for the Center for Fiction Flaherty-Dunnan Debut Novel Prize. He lives in Sitka with his wife and two daughters, where he commercial fishes.
