Susan Fox Rogers the author of My Reach: A Hudson River Memoir. In this work she explores the Hudson River from the perspective of her kayak, and weaves in the natural and built history of this region, as well as the story of her family. She is the editor of twelve book anthologies including Solo: On Her Own Adventure, Going Alone: Women’s Adventures in the Wild, and Alaska Passages: 20 Voices from Above the 54th Parallel. She compiled the anthology Antarctica: Life on the Ice while on a National Science Foundation grant for writers in Antarctica. Since 2001 she has taught the creative essay, as well as nature writing workshops at Bard College. Currently she is at work on a memoir of her birding life that travels from the Everglades to Gambell, Alaska.
